My name is Raechal Friess, and I am a Life Coach and Spiritual Director located in Brighton, Colorado, a suburb just north of Denver. My initial calling into the field of Spiritual Direction took place over several years. I felt an intense tug in my heart to work with those who were suffering from the wounds of trauma and were unable to move past the pain to see a path to a different life. Many times, they would turn to destructive coping mechanisms to avoid the pain, which created even more layers of obstacles
I approached my church Pastor and told her what was on my heart, and that I felt this calling to help. She suggested that I become a Spiritual Director. Spiritual Director? Honestly, I had no idea what that was! She explained that a Spiritual Director walks with someone in their faith journey as they seek to discover or deepen their relationship with their Higher Power. By very deep listening, a Spiritual Director helps them see where that Higher Power is moving in their lives. She went on to say, that while I did not realize it, I was already practicing as one, and with proper training, could put this skill to even better use helping people throughout all walks of life.
And therefore, my journey began. I became a certified Spiritual Director, trained through the Benet Hill Monastery in Colorado Springs in 2018. In conjunction with that training, I became a Certified Professional Life Coach, accredited through the Certified Life Coach Institute. I am also a Second-Degree Reiki Practitioner. Reiki is a healing technique, focused on channeling energy within to activate the natural healing processes.
