Welcome and thank you for reading my first blog post! In this space, I plan to journal about the highlights that happen in my life that help give it direction and purpose.
The premise of my business, What’s Next-Life Coaching and Spiritual Direction, is to help people heal inwardly from past trauma so they can discover their purpose in life. We then map out the necessary action steps to live out their purpose.
Helping people discover and implement their purpose, is my purpose.
Because of this, I am always studying the best supporting practices of those who are confident that they are living out their purpose. I look to many different sources to learn what works: asking questions in conversations, reading and listening to podcasts.
Several years ago, I listened to a podcast on quests, and it struck an inspirational chord in my heart. A quest accomplishes several things that are important to me:
A quest gives my life direction
A quest is a fun way to give my life direction
A quest is an interesting way to give my life direction
I decided to embark on a quest that combines two of my loves. Running and travel.
My quest is to run a race in all 50 states.
Knowing myself as I do, I am aware that I need outward accountability to accomplish this quest and that it has to be measurable. To track this quest, I purchased a pushpin map off Amazon that hangs in my living room and is a joyful visual reminder of all the places this has taken me, the accomplishments I have achieved, and it also let’s me see where I still have the opportunity to go.
As of now, this has taken me to Colorado (where I live), Ohio, Florida, Idaho, Georgia, Washington and New Mexico.
And I’m bringing this guy along for the ride!
This quest actually combines 3 of my loves-running, travel, and my favorite human being!
